My mind wonders when I hear orange shirt day. It brings up alot of grief for sure.

( grief of disconnect from the mother land. For example this tree. My whole life I never knew. Until this person told me. I got to experience something for the first time with my girls. Our first moment. Larch trees. )

We think of residential schools

When the orange shirt arrives… The leaves are falling. That process resembles that for me. Imagine this transformational powerful bridge between the physical and the sacred spirits we call ancestors. Orange colorful meaning is being creative. When I see the orange shirt day walks, I  see people walking together and that is a creative evolutionary change.

Like the cycle of hurt from generations to get where society is today and to work to get out of this cycle… A balance of time, like the seasons. It’s how we harvest, once a year, it’s a matter of how we process to preserve. To the next 7 generations.

Perspective is everything. It’s a dynamic we call community.

The beginning of the month is my late daughter’s death anniversary.

Its suicide awareness month as well.

Ending the month with truth and reconciliation

I often wonder what that means… is it coincidence?

I know I’m late posting this, thank you for your patience.

Also…. Did you know ?

1996 was last residential school.

2006 is when they stopped the ruler punishment outside of residential schools. Do you remember the ruler?

So when we talk about residential schools, I think about the ruler that was used in schools as well in certain generations. Just my little observation.

Orange shirt day, thank you for all the blessings and teachings. Good or bad, there is always something to learn outside of our capacity.

The trauma, I pray everyone finds healing within themselves..as I’m working hard to heal myself. Sending a positive light as we go through these transitions..
